They called him the “Tyler Rose,” Earl Campbell, #20. From 1974 to 1977, didn’t seek an opening. He created the opening by running over whatever stood in front of him. He rumbled, stiff-armed, and thrashed defenders like a battering ram in burnt orange and white.
He was a Saturday jubilee down in the heart of Texas!
And nearly half-a-century later? The legend of Earl Campbell only grows.
